About Our Auto Shop

The Owner of Southside Motors, Alicia & her Fiancé, started the business out of their passion for cars & their involvement in the car community. In 2019 Alicia started working for a former customers of her, who has started an independent car dealership in Southern California. Due to restrictions with zoning & prices it was almost impossible to afford to open a service center in addition to the dealership.

After suffering thru COVID in Southern California the two fo them decided that CA was not the place for them any longer. They decided to transfer their primary residence to a home they had purchased years back on the boarder of NC & Virginia which led them to getting involved in the locakl car community and making a lot of connections with fantastic people.

After much pondering they decided to go for it. In Seprember 2023 they bought out another local auto repair place and started Southside Motors in Danville, Virginia with a goal to provide excellent service and top quality work on vehicles of all kinds. In April 2025 the business was moved to South Boston, VA. Only 40 minutes away from the old location, they found their calling. A smaller town with good people and a need for more. Southside Motors sits in a little old building on Edmunds Street near the railroad tracks, and is keeping up a reputation of puting the customer and their needs first every day.

No matter how much we grow we never forget that we are a family owned & opperated business, and we carry that down to each of the employees. Every employee knows that we consider them part of the family and like any family everyone has their roles, and everyone is valued. When you come visit us and meet the staff you will see we are here because we enjoy it and want to be.

John Winning an awark for the F150 Lightening

"We thought that there was no place in the US that we would find that had a heavier car culture then So Cal. We were surprised and happy to find out that we were wrong.  We actually do more now."
